Kiln & Route follows travelers who come home with clay under their fingernails and recipes in their notebooks.

We write about workshops, markets, family kitchens and the people who keep traditional crafts alive. Our stories are about participation rather than sightseeing — the pottery wheel instead of the gift shop.
